BIOGRAPHy of Hot Sauce

The Historical Side of Philip "Hot Sauce" Champion

hot sauce, hot sizzle, pip, streetballPhilip Champion (born June 14, 1976 in Orlando, Florida) also known as "Hot Sauce", is an American basketball player who has played on the Streetball AND1 Mixtape Tour from its creation in 2000. Champion is six-foot-one and weighs 160 pounds and is widely regarded as the most famous streetball player in the world.

Originally from Orlando, Champion spent the majority of his youth in Columbus, Georgia. During high school, he was cut from the team during both his sophomore and junior year because of his style of basketball. He played his Freshman year, which was the only organized basketball he played in high school. He decided not to even try out his senior year. After high school he found himself in Atlanta. He found life at Run N’ Shoot, spending long hours in pick-up games and solitary practices, developing his ball-handling skills with his brother Kevin Jones.

Champion and his (now ex) manager and Mark Edwards met at Run N’ Shoot early in 1999 and the two formed a friendship. Then, a few years ago, Champion violated the terms of his probation and, because he could not pay the $752 fine issued by the judge, found himself in jail. In the meantime Edwards, who had begun aggressively promoting Champion’s game, was contacted by AND1, which wanted to arrange for Champion to participate in some of the organized games they were holding on outdoor courts. Edwards went back to Run N’ Shoot, unaware that Champion had been incarcerated. After learning of Champion's predicament through a mutual friend, Edwards, an attorney, arranged to pay his fine and headed for Los Angeles, CA and the AND1 game. Champion joined the AND1 team in the summer of 2000.

In 2006, he played a role in the movie Crossover. On January 27, it was announced that Champion had signed with the College Park Spyders of the present American Basketball Association. [

How to Improve High Jump Technique | And1 fans here

Instructions to MAKE your JUMP reach the maximum effort

Step 1

Run. Start your training by running. You will need to condition your body to produce adequate speeds. It will take a great force to get your body off of the ground and over a pole into a pile of cushions.

Step 2

Arch your back so that your stomach faces towards the sky. You will need to be able to arch your back while in mid-air over the pole. Use your abdominal muscles and arch your back and curl back up quickly. You will need to perfect this move so as not to injure yourself by landing on your neck backwards.

Step 3

Play basketball. Basketball players have to run at angles to produce a good lay up technique. The same curved running and jumping motion is used when completing the high jump. Practice this so that your feet can position properly and your ankles are able to lift you off the ground vertically.

Step 4

Balance on balance beams at the gym. This will help you find your center of gravity and know where you need to focus your energy on in order to get over the beam. This technique is very helpful to avoid injury.

Step 5

Practice the high jump before you enter any competitions. After trying it just a few times you will see what areas you need to improve in. Your mother was always right when she said, "practice makes perfect."

In mid of 1996, NBA star Stephon Marbury became the first spokesman for AND1 and once had his own name brand AND1 shoe called "Starbury".

In late 1998, a videotape containing streetball stunts was delivered[citation needed] to AND1 by Ron Naclerio, coach of the Benjamin Cardozo High school team in Queens, New York. The tape contained low quality camera moves, poor resolution and nearly indecipherable audio featuring a streetballer by the name of Rafer Alston. At the time, Alston was a student at Fresno State who had entered the 1998 NBA Draft. The videotape would soon be known as the "Skip tape", referring to Alston's streetball nickname "Skip to my Lou".[citation needed] Alston later signed AND1's first endorsement deal.
